Schedule and publish posts with an AI assistant

How an assistant checks, confirms and schedules or publishes approved posts to the social accounts you shared, and how it moves or unschedules them.

An assistant can schedule or publish content that is Ready to post to the social accounts you shared with it. It uses the same publishing flow and checks as the Sequence app.

Before you start

  • The connection needs Social publishing set to Write, with the accounts ticked. See Choose what an AI assistant can access.
  • Your role must allow publishing to those accounts.
  • Only content that is Ready to post can be scheduled or published, so it must have passed review.

How it works

  1. 01
Ask the assistant to schedule or publish a post, for example "Schedule the Launch teaser to LinkedIn for 9am next Tuesday".
  2. 02
It checks that the post is Ready to post and that each account can post, and tells you about anything that needs fixing.
  3. 03
It shows you the post, the exact accounts and the time, and waits for you to confirm.
  4. 04
After you confirm, it schedules or publishes the post and reports each account's result.

Times use the brand's time zone unless you name another.

When one account fails

Each account reports its own result, so one platform can succeed while another needs attention. Fix the problem, then ask the assistant to retry that account, or retry it in Sequence. See Fix and retry a failed social publishing target.

Move or unschedule a scheduled post

An assistant can move a scheduled post to a new time, or unschedule it, when the connection has Social publishing Write for every account the post is scheduled on and your role can publish to them. Moving the time also needs Content calendar Write. Sequence moves the post on each platform and reports whether each one accepted the new time.

Calendar dates are not schedules

Setting a date on the content calendar plans the post in Sequence but does not schedule it on any social account. Schedule it separately when it's ready.
